NAIDOC Day 2018

Rhiannon Wright , granddaughter of Darug Elder Aunty Edna, taught students across K-6 about Darug language.

The language is darug and it is the inland dialect from the freshwater people of the Darug nation. itis the language that the Traditional Owners of the land were speaking for thousands of years in the Parramatta area.

The language changes to the coastal dialect just on the other side of Parramatta where the saltwater meets the freshwater river.

Rhiannon told the students her story about why she teaches. This is because of her grandmother and mother - because of her, she can.
