Our school prides itself on the extent and quality of its teaching and learning programs in all key learning areas, its caring approach to students and its innovative programs in literacy, numeracy and the teaching of English as a second language.
Parramatta West Public School is a place which represents all that is wonderful in Australia. With over 50 languages spoken within the school population, we learn in a happy, safe and harmonious environment where strong values are taught .
We hold strong beliefs about the nature of learning. We believe that learning should be meaningful and relevant, challenging and rewarding, open ended, stimulating and a life long process. Through a balanced curriculum we provide programs that encourage students to strive to reach their full potential in all areas, including their academic, social, emotional and sporting endeavours.
Our school is one where teachers are given the opportunity to continue to develop their expertise in teaching and learning, and parents are encouraged to be partners in their children's education. Students from Parramatta West are well prepared to face the challenges of the next stage in their learning and their personal development.
Our whole school community has developed our core expectations of Respect, Resposibility and Safety. Children are taught what these expectations look like in different situations and locations.
Our multicultural community is supported from preschool to Year 6. There is a playgroup run by the Hills, Holroyd, Parramatta Migrant Resource Centre every Wednesday and Friday mornings which assists new families to meet others and prepare their children for school.
On Tuesday afternoons our refugee students attend Bright Sparks, an award winning homework centre supported by the St Vincent de Paul Society and a willing band of volunteers.
We welcome visitors - feel free to call in or ring for an appointment. Thank you for visiting our school website.
